NUESTRA HISTORIA
DE AMOR
Daniela and I met way back in 2014 during the spring of our freshmen year in high school. We had both signed up for track and field, and we briefly interacted as we ran lap upon lap in the cold Colorado spring. We stayed in touch throughout the years of high school, remaining on friendly terms but never interacting more than occasionally bumping into each other around school. After we both graduated, we went our separate ways. Years passed, and out of the blue, Daniela sent me a note on my 23rd birthday, wishing me well and seeing how I was doing. I was rather flattered that she had remembered my birthday after so many years, and we texted back and forth to catch up a bit.

We are thrilled to be hosting our wedding in Cartagena, Colombia's coastal gem. This city, designated as a UNESCO world heritage site, stands as one of South America's most significant cultural treasures. The walls of Cartagena de Indias grace the historical center, known as "the walled city," where you can discover squares, cobblestone streets, and exquisite, vibrant colonial buildings.
The ultimate way to experience Cartagena is by strolling through it, immersing yourself in the maze of narrow streets and lush green plazas. We highly recommend lodging within the walled city, where everything is conveniently within walking distance. The streets are alive with constant live music, splendid restaurants, and quirky bars, all contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of Cartagena.
Estamos encantados de celebrar nuestra boda en Cartagena, la joya costera de Colombia. Esta ciudad, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, es uno de los tesoros culturales más importantes de Sudamérica. Las murallas de Cartagena de Indias adornan el centro histórico, conocido como “La Ciudad Amurallada", donde podrá descubrir plazas, calles adoquinadas y exquisitos y vibrantes edificios coloniales.
La mejor forma de conocer Cartagena es paseando por ella, sumergiéndose en el laberinto de callejuelas y exuberantes plazas verdes. Recomendamos alojarse en la ciudad amurallada, donde todo está a un paso. Las calles están llenas de música en directo, espléndidos restaurantes y extravagantes bares, que contribuyen a la vibrante atmósfera de Cartagena.

Teatro Heredia
Magnificent eclectic-style building erected in 1902, designed by Luis Felipe Jaspe, the same architect who created the Cartagena Clock Tower.
Murallas de Cartagena
Forification that took more than a hundred years to complete, carried out in stages from 1586 to 1699, encompassing the perimeter of the center of the old city, San Diego and Getsemaní.
Torre del Reloj
Famous gateway to the walled city, characterized by its baroque stone doorway that precedes an imposing structure.
isla de barú
Coastal area located 45 minutes by boat, known for its paradisiacal almost virgin white sand beaches, transparent waters and coral reefs.
castillo san felipe
One of the most famous sites, corresponding to a castle built in the seventeenth century, considered the most outstanding work of Spanish military engineering in America.
cerro de la popa
Highest point in Cartagena, a strategic position that allows privileged views of both the old city and the Caribbean Sea, the island of Tierrabomba and La Boquilla.

Flight to Cartagena on the Caribbean coast. Latam, Delta, American Airlines, United, Copa Airlines and Avianca operate direct flights to the Rafael Nuñez Airport. The airport is a short 10-minutes taxi journey to the old town. There are authorized taxi services 24 hours. The rate to Getsemaní costs about $14.000 cop. To the hotel zone of the Historic Center (Ciudad Amurallada) about Max $18.000 cop and to the Bocagrande zone it costs $30.000 cop. Normally $1 USD is equivalent to $4.500 cop.
